Water Slides and Wedding Flowers

Woo Hoo!!!Today Karli, Stevie and their friends are heading off to the water slides! It's a cold, gloomy day with expectations of it getting nice and sunny though. The girls are higher than kites(especially Renee!). Megan is here for the weekend and plans to help me with the flowers for the wedding that I am doing. A boutaneer and corsage party! Ladies are expected this afternoon to help make them. I just hope that all goes well. I would hate to have the bride cry over her ugly flowers! My greatest fear!!

Bake Sale!!! Get your questionably edible items!!!

Today we prepared for a bake sale. Stevie has to make money if he wants to go to youth group camp in August, so he's been working mowing lawns, cleaning, washing cars, and now a bake sale.
The funny thing is, the kid doesn't bake.
Gee, I wonder who he thought would do it? Hmmm... well, not me. After he asked the dumb question of,"Can we just buy some food to sell there?" we got busy.Actually, he didn't do too bad! He made Rice Crispy Treats and brownies. He washed his hands before starting, didn't pick his nose during the stirring, and didn't even cough into the bowl! Ah well, cooking kills the germs, right?

Anyways, now all we have to do is pray that the goodies survive the night and hope that people take pity on these kids tomorrow.

Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil

We also visited the Bonaventure cemetery, a huge cemetery outside of Savannah, and also a place mentioned in the book "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil". This grave is the sight of a beautiful sculpture in remembrance of a 6 year old girl, Gracie Pulaski, who died in 1889.

Beautiful arches and large, impressive statues.

Tybee Island

Today Allie, Karli and I went to Tybee Island and enjoyed the beach. There were dolphins swimming up and down the beach right along side of us!
